Hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of calcium phosphate-based coatings on AZ31 magnesium alloy

Abstract This study aims to analyze the influence of process parameters used for hydrothermal synthesis CaP coatings on their properties and improve corrosion resistance biocompatibility compared substrat AZ31. The monitored were deposition time, pH reaction mixture, concentration precursors in mixture. For deposited AZ31 magnesium alloy, surface morphology number structural defects evaluated using scanning electron microscopy. Electrochemical polarization techniques Hank’s solution. results showed that best obtained sample prepared a mixture at 120 °C, 5 time min, when was 0.30 mol/l Ca(NO 3 ) 2 ·4H O 0.28 NH 4 H PO . Under these conditions, electrochemical achieved.
